about

The Promise is multi-award winning jazz & gospel legend Dee Daniels' spiritual & deeply powerful debut for Cellar Music.

Truly a revelatory album from one of North America's most beloved jazz and inspirational vocalists. The Promise is the result of a journey with breast cancer which inspired the artist to write and produce a career-changing collection of spiritual songs. Already a winner of the 2020 Western Canadian Music Awards' Best Spiritual Artist and numerous Global Music Awards, The Promise is one of the most anticipated gospel and spiritual albums of the year in a time when we all need inspiration.

This is Dee’s 13th album recorded as a leader. The CD's eleven original songs were “gifted” to her via meditation while going through treatment for breast cancer. Stylistically, they have led her back to her first music, Inspirational and Gospel.

The album has already won the Western Canadian Music Awards' Spiritual Artist of the Year and 3 Global Music Awards for album, contemporary gospel, and artist.

Includes the bonus single "Let Freedom Ring (The Ballad Of John Lewis) available as a digital/streaming only track. This ambitious recording with orchestra was written by Dee after the death of US civil rights icon representative, John Lewis.
